Prayer Room is at the heart of all we do. It creates the FIRE and context for all other ministry (such as missions, community, acts of justice, etc…) to function in a healthy manner. Instead of a place where the prayer room is simply a ministry, here the prayer room is at the center of all ministry. We believe as we invest into the place of prayer and worship, joined with intercession, the kingdom of God will go forth- resulting in strengthened individuals, intense discipleship, transformed society, powerful preaching of the word, and a great harvest.
The Tabernacle of David is an inspiration to the heart and vision of One27 House of Prayer. David’s Tabernacle was a place that he established when taking the throne and kingdom of Israel (1 Chronicles 13-16). He set up the ark of covenant under a tent and placed ministers (musicians, singers, intercessors) around it to host day and night worship and prayer unto the God of heaven and earth (1 Chronicles 16:4). This type of ministry was something new, where David offered not the sacrifice of animals, but the sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving (Psalm 100:4). This was their ministry mandate. David would not rest until He established this as the primary expression in Jerusalem (Psalm 132). From this system of worship and intercession, power and victory went forth from the humble city of Jerusalem. Kings who later adopted this (worship and prayer) model also saw victory throughout their kingdom! The model of worship (music) and intercession (prayer) comes from the model that’s now going on in heaven- it can be found in Revelation 4-5. The divine scene shows us how the hosts of heaven perpetually worship the man Jesus Christ, as the angels release the prayers and intercessions of the saints into the earth (Revelation 5:8). In light of this, we are committed to placing emphasis on the model of worship and prayer. The Lord promises in Amos 9:11 to restore this type of ministry (of day and night worship and intercession), that the gospel and Kingdom of God will go forth, producing a great harvest (Amos 9:12-13; Acts 15:16-18). As the old saying goes, “So goes prayer, so goes the church”, we are building a culture of worship and prayer- a DWELLING PLACE for the LORD!
