We are excited to announce that we will be having a "Weekend of Worship" with our friends Michael and Michelle Tharpe from the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, MO. They will be leading a 2 hour "harp and bowl" style worship set for Worship Night June 16th beginning at 6:30pm. They will also be leading worship and ministering in the Word on Sunday morning June 17th beginning at 10:30am. Take moment below to read a short bio on our friend Michael and how he's currently serving God in the prayer movement at IHOP-KC, as well as abroad.
After graduating with his Masters in Vocal Music Education, Michael began teaching in public and private schools. Then in 1992 he began serving at a local church in Northeastern Louisiana as a worship leader and associate pastor. While there, Michael trained musicians & singers for local churches, cared pastorally for junior high, high school and college students. He also served the Spiritual Prayer Network for the state of Louisiana and the Gulf Coast region of the United States, through prophetic/ repentance prayer walks and leading worship at local, state and regional prayer gatherings.
Michael Tharpe has been on staff at the International House Of Prayer in Kansas City, MO since moving from Louisiana in August of 2003 with his wife, Michelle & their daughter Michaela. At IHOPKC Michael has served in various areas over the years - intercessor, worship leader, prophetic singer & musician, home group leader, etc. Since Forerunner School Of Worship’s inception in 2005, Michael has been part of it’s senior leadership team. Currently at FSW, Michael is head of the vocal faculty and involved in raising-up, equipping and releasing prophetic singers and instrumentalists as forerunner messengers - “preparing the way of the Lord” for Christ’s soon return!
